If I didn’t know better, I’d say that the team are stalking gin producers at the moment. Either that all they are being swept up in the ‘Great Gin Extravaganza of 2012′. The stuff is EVERYWHERE.

Our good friends at Speciality Drinks have more gin that whisky (ok, so that’s a lie, but…) From the utilitarian but wonderfully frank Jensen to Jake’s flamboyant Portobello

Thirteen have been particularly impressed by Williams Chase Gin

Chase were down at Selfridge & Co. sampling to the heaving masses and Big John had the pleasure of talking to James Chase himself.

He talked through the production process and botanical makeup. It really works – soft, fresh and brilliantine – that residual apple note makes this gin sing.

Last week Alessandro Palazzi at Duke’s Bar mixed us up a gin Martini using the new Gilpin’s Gin.

Here’s the blurb – ‘distilled in small batches in London using a traditional pot still method and fresh spring water from Cartmel in the Lake District which is naturally filtered through ancient willow peat beds and limestone. An infusion of 8 botanicals including juniper, sage, borage and lemon, lime & bitter orange peels created a perfectly balanced extra dry gin’.

And a pretty respectable martini. Thank you.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day and to showcase the limited edition pink Rose graffiti bottle, Moet & Chandon hosted a pop-up store in the heart of London’s Covent Garden Piazza. BAMBOO London were commissioned to design, execute and manage this unique experience.

Promoted heavily through print and digital, this live Rose ‘bubble’ was very popular, with the unmissable pink glow inviting Champagne lovers inside to have their Moet Rose bottles personalised with their declarations of love by renowned graffiti artist Stika. Stika also created a bespoke live art installation which visitors could see develop over the 4 days the store was open.

Prospects were also invited to try out the the Moet ‘Tag Your Love ‘ app on pink branded iPads whilst enjoying a glass of the decidedly sexy bubbly.

BAMBOO created and ran a global competition for Beefeater 24. Culminating in a Grand Final in London. Tea was the focus. Bartenders spent a day at the venerable distillery competing in blind tastings, origami and sushi making. They even made a few cocktails. The objective of the day was to test them on all aspects of their ability, not just creativity and presentation. They had some coaching from tea maestro Jane Pettigrew and took part in both a Japanese and Chinese tea ceremony. A intensive experience that hopefully sent bartenders, not least winner Jacob Sweetapple, (an Australian resident in Vancouver) back to their markets as advocates with a stronger relationship with the brand.

BAMBOO designed an internal launch of Ballantines new marketing campaign – PLAN B. This was an employee awareness programme designed to connect with key commercial teams in at Chivas Brothers. It was brought to life by careful application of branding and key messages from their new campaign. Plan B was all about letting out your altar ego so staff were challenged by our team of caricaturists to think outside of their normal working day and reveal their dreams and aspirations. An highly effective activation that engaged with and ensured buy in from key teams.

Moët & Chandon, the Champagne of success and glamour since 1743, is enhancing its rich heritage as an icon of victorious celebration with one of the most world recognised and prestigious sports institutions. As part of the partnership, Moët & Chandon were associated with the spectacular season finale tournament, welcoming the 8 best men singles players and doubles team in the world to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2, London

BAMBOO London were asked to produce, build and dress Moët’s hospitality pavilion situated in the sponsors village in line with their new brand design guidelines.

This involved building a flagship bar that would be used at over 15 events globally in 2012. Particular focus was given to the materials and textures used to create this luxurious space.
