Veuve Clicquot’s ‘The Season’ iPhone app was billed as a ‘new generation guide to the must-attend events of the 2010 social calendar.’ Premiered at last year’s Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup Polo finals, the app is essentially a calendar that allows users to plan their summer; creating, managing and sharing their social calendars and, most important, locating the nearest bar at events like Glastonbury and Wimbledon. The concierge service uses the iPhone’s GPS function to have a frosted bottle of VCP delivered right to the customer. Once an order is placed, customers receive a confirmation message and delivery time, with payment made on delivery.

Objective; Bring the iPhone app to life and manage sales to the 15,000 attendees at the final of the British Polo Open.

Mechanic; BAMBOO worked closely with the digital design team Fearlessly Frank to ensure that the back end of this dynamic app worked. In a very poor signal area and with 15,000 strong crowd, our team of brand ambassadors in branded golf carts still managed to find customers and deliver their champagne.

Outcome; The launch of the ‘poshest iPhone app in the store’ generated serious online buzz, but beyond its digital reach, the ambitious Concierge service really brought the luxury of The Season to life.
