Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup 2010

Project Type; Consumer Brand Animation

The Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup is the Final of The British Open Polo Championships, held at Cowdray Park. This is real polo, not some exhibition match. It’s the cornerstone event in Veuve Clicquot’s platform ‘The Season’. This event genuinely realises Veuve Clicquot as a brand. Fun, fast paced, dramatic and glamorous.

Objective; To bring to life Veuve Clicquot’s involvement at the event. To create a distinctly different, fun, stylish and exciting event concept that rewards attendees with an authentic brand experience.

Mechanic; Challenged to energise the 15th Veuve Cliquot Gold Cup, BAMBOO created a boutique ‘Pique Nique’ in the Sussex countryside. Guests arrived at a brilliant white split-level marquee for a carefully designed vintage paired lunch. Guests passed the sunny afternoon sprawled on shaded daybeds enjoying free flowing Rose and watching Dubai win the British Open. A sumptuous tea was served from overturned wicker theatre skips and fields of wheat grass while DJ Tolula Adeyemi did her thing from a booth built into the bar out of SMEG fridges.

Outcome; Activation really picked up the pace on previous years with all elements combining to deliver a contemporary design led space meeting VCP credentials and delivering a fresh and lasting guest experience. Guests Greg Rusedski, Ruby Wax, Naomie Harris, Little Boots, Karen Gillan, Matthew Williamson, Henry Holland and Bianca Jagger were well documented in print and digital press.
